Research Paper on the Year 1969 -- American History

"First, I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth."- John F. Kennedy. On a warm July night in 1969, this dream came true. Millions of people sat captivated in front of their TVs witnessing one of the most monumental events in history, Neil Armstrong walking gracefully on the moon. This event in US history changed the way we look at space forever. Political issues such as the Vietnam War and foreign affairs were on the forefront of American's minds. Thousands of people came peacefully together in a historical concert event called Woodstock. Children were introduced to a place called "Sesame Street" and Heavy Metal meant more than just an old car. The year 1969 impacted American's lives today in politics, science, sports, art, entertainment and daily living. Politics On January 20, 1969 our 37th president, Richard Milhous Nixon, was sworn into Presidency. His main focus as president was to pull forces out of Vietnam in order to end the War that began in 1961. Nixon began this process by pulling 75,000 troops out of Vietnam in the first year he was president. Nixon also worked to improve US relations with China as well as with the Soviet Union. He was the first president to visit China. He also imposed a wage price freeze to combat inflation that was replaced by a system of wage price controls, to be later removed. Nixon?s term as President will forever be remembered due to his resignation from presidency over the Watergate scandal. One of the most important political issues of 1969 was the Vietnam War. Throughout this year many demonstrations took place to protest the war. For example, in... ...as ?nifty? if you drove a Firebird Trans Am or Dodge charger. Today, people restore these cars to drive a piece of automotive history. The population of the US in 1969 was 202,677,000. Many people from Hollywood and sports were born this year. Some people born this year are Bobby Brown, Renee Zellweger, Steffi Graf, Ice Cube, and Brett Favre. Some people who died this year were Dwight D Eisenhower, Rocky Marciano, and Brian Jones. Conclusion The events in 1969 brought the beginning of many things to our country. Sports made multiple historical moments and a new genre of music was created and made unforgettable. Neil Armstrong was the first man to set foot onto the moon and it was a moment that will never be forgotten. The Boeing 747 first took flight and can be seen in our skies today. What better way to end the 1960's with an amazing year like 1969.

Cantonese opera Essay

Most foreign people know what Bejing opera is, but Chinese national Opera has a long history and 275 species of Chinese operas have been saved, there are a wide range of operas were not extended yet, Cantonese opera is very popular in the south of China, many Chinese people prefer Cantonese opera to Beijing Opera. The biggest difference between Beijing Opera and Cantonese Opera is language, the Beijing Opera use Mandarin, the Cantonese Opera use Cantonese. Cantonese opera is local opera in Han Dynasty is formerly known as drama or Guangdong opera from the Southern Opera. Cantonese opera began to appear in Guangdong, Guangxi from AD 1522 to 1566 (Ming Dynasty Jiajing) included singing, read, hit musicians ,soundtrack, stage costumes, The abstract body performing arts. Each Cantonese opera role has its own unique costumes dress. The initial performance’ language is Zhongyuan phonological, also called matshed Mandarin. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the intellectuals changed the opera language to Guangzhou language in order to facilitate their revolution, also aimed to make Cantonese understand easier. Cantonese opera ranked into national intangible cultural heritage on May 20, 2006. The UNESCO add Cantonese opera in the human intangible cultural heritage list on September 30, 2009. Cantonese opera originated in the Chinese folk songs which called Qi folk songs, the earliest folk songs can be traced back to the â€Å"Book of Songs† from pre-Qin Dynasty, but this is the common origin of all Chinese opera, such as Beijing opera, Cantonese opera, class opera, Shanghai opera, Shaoxing opera, and Huangmei opera. The stage art style is impressionistic. The scenery is simple, the play provides situational by virtual performance program, or write captions on board like â€Å"riverside†, â€Å"alpine† instead of stage background. Performances who in the city called â€Å"GD-HK† learned drama, opera and movies to improved their performance and made theme reflect contemporary life. Later, people Change falsetto into true voice in Cantonese opera. The men sing like relatively stable, low; women sing like very delicate and mellow. As some Cantonese opera are very favorite in new media, these famous Cantonese opera has recomposed in movies, TV series, dramas, and music. Its main purpuse is to determine key inputs in each building block, its simple and focused. 4.2.2) Common language The beauty of business model canvas is that it creates a common reference and language that can be used to articulate, share and gain feeback on each business model and its consitutent parts. 4.2.3)Value proposition Critically, at the heart of business model canvas is the value proposition. Business model canvas addresses issues which are internal and external in nature and focuses on business ability to generate value. The ability to generate value is key component and all behaviours of a business focuses around that internal component. Even with significant advantages of business canvas, there are dissadvantages which have to be taken into consideration. 4.3)Dissadvantages of BMC The BMC has some important dissadvantages as well. It completely ignores competition, therefore will not help define differentiators and market share, among other things. In order to better satisfy the customers business may group them into segments with similar needs. In the case of paypal, we have clearly distinquished different clientele base which is composed of business to business, business to customers and private merchants. 5.1.2)Value Propositions Value propositions is the entire product or service line offered to customers by the business. It solves customer needs and adapts to expectations. In the case of Paypal, they offer multi-currency online payment platform which is free for use. 5.1.3)Channels Channels identify how company communicates with and reaches its customers segments to deliver a value proposition. Communication, distribution and sales channels comprise a company interface with customers. Paypals main forms of channels lies with online advertising and partners. Also Paypal communicates with existing customers mainly through email. Phone conversations are possible for emergencies. Different key resources are required depending on the type of business. Paypal, as it is a e business requires an efficient and reliable paypal platform, further necessary requirements are partners such as ebay. Paypal has its own developer website where it announces its newest updates. 5.1.6)Key activities Key activities describes the most important actions a company must do in order to accomplish their business model. Key activities, similarly to key resources are required to create and offer a value proposition, reach segmentated market and their customer base. Paypal accomplishies this task by effective marketing campaign, a superb support for their services and by creating the most secure transaction system. 5.1.7)Key Partnerships Key Partnerships describes the necessary à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“suppliers and partnersà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚  (Osterwalder, 2010) that make the business model work. The most significant partnership of Paypal is Ebay, which purchased PayPal after initial IPO for the price of 1.5billion dollars. Paypal has a direct link referring a payment for eBay. 5.1.8)Cost Structure Cost structure identifies all à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“costs incurred to operateà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚  (Osterwalder, 2010) business. Every action taken by business has a cost attached to it. Creating value, maintaining custumer relationships all incur costs.Paypal main costs are maitining security for its transactions and maintenance of platform. Also new research and development, such as Mobile SDKs, which is a paypal platform for IOS and Android operating systems. 5.1.9)Revenue Streams Revenue streams represents the income received from their customer segments. Successfully targeting a customer base increases the revenue generated from that base, making the business more profitable. Paypal main income derives from transactions. As they are free for use, it is extremely important that Paypal targets their customers accurately to generate higher amount of transactions. 6)Conclusion The Business model canvas is, in our groups view a great starting point for brainstorming and creating an overview plan for the business. Althought, it has significant advantages where it allows to identify business revenue stream,costs and activities but it doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t include any notion of competion or any external environmental that could affect a business. Therefore, we believe that Business model canvas shouldnt be confused with a strategy tool.
